It's exactly 39 days, 6 hours, 56 minutes, and 58 seconds until I leave America for four months and start my transition into a "Grenoblois" or resident of Grenoble, France. Now it's not like I'm counting or anything, but I think it's safe to say I am excited to be entering into this new world.
There will be majestic mountains, radiant rivers, charming chateaus, the birthplace of the French Revolution...(okay I guess I'm a little more than excited), but Grenoble has so much to offer in it's place as the "Capital of the Alps" and soon my luscious lecteurs, you will know why!
Now, I am not only writing to tell you about my preparations for the big move, I am writing to prepare you for what you will most likely see in the coming months on 'Becoming Grenoblois.' The only reason I am preparing my most gracious lecteurs, is because you will probably be inundated with pictures of food, lots and lots of food (because who can't get enough of le cuisine francaise?), beautiful scenery, beautiful men (just kidding...I think), and anything else that catches my eye.
As for me, I am taking my time, knowing that I will probably be doing most of the packing a few hours before I leave (hopefully not though, I mean talk about stressful!). About all I have right now is Band-Aids, cough drops, a super cute shower caddy (it has a walrus on it!), and about 10 pairs of pants. How's that for a packing procrastinator? Now I know I need to add some shirts to make an outfit, and maybe some dresses, a few skirts, oh and don't forget the jewelry! Man packing is tough...
So next time you hear from me, hopefully I will have packed a few more things (besides pants) and I will continue to write so you get to know me, not just my journey...or my propensity for packing really late. I will also include some tips and tricks for packing for any readers who are going on a super long trip because I know some of you must hate packing as much as I do.
À bientôt!
